WAY Day, named to honor the legacy of Intrax’s late founders, John Wilhelm And Takeshi Yokota, was celebrated by our international offices on May 6th, 2025. The day was created to celebrate our founders' legacy and unite our teams around the world in a shared mission of community service and global impact.
San Francisco:
The Intrax San Francisco office celebrated WAY Day with a beach beautification project at the city’s newest park, Sunset Dunes. The team spent the day removing invasive ice plant from the pedestrian paths, clearing out multiple truckloads of the stubborn succulent. Their efforts helped open up the trails, making it easier for San Franciscans to walk, explore, and enjoy this beautiful new space by Ocean Beach.

Japan:
Our Japan office marked WAY Day by collecting donations of school supplies from AYUSA and AuPairCare participants and sending them to students in Thailand. The goal was to help encourage Thai children to pursue their education, while also creating a meaningful connection between our participants and the global community. This initiative not only supported students abroad but also gave participating families a chance to contribute to something bigger—an international act of kindness rooted in cultural exchange.

Korea:
The Intrax Korea office celebrated WAY Day by volunteering with the Red Cross and preparing baked goods for those in need. The team rolled up their sleeves—quite literally—and spent the day elbow-deep in dough and flour. Their efforts brought comfort and nourishment to the community, one warm bite at a time.
Germany:
The Intrax Germany office picked up right where they left off last year, continuing their incredible work with the organization Wir packen’s an. Focused on supporting refugees across Europe, the team spent WAY Day packing essential supplies such as clothing and hygiene products to be sent to EU border regions.
AmeriCamp & Further Travel UK Office:
Our UK-based Further Travel team spent WAY Day volunteering at a vibrant community market garden run by Manchester Urban Diggers (MUD). Once an abandoned bowling green, the space has been transformed into a hub of community activity. It now offers everything from apitherapy and art workshops to food cultivation and gardening classes. The team had a fantastic morning and jumped right in, helping with watering, weeding, replanting, and even a bit of rebuilding.
Intrax Chile:
Intrax Chile spent WAY Day visiting Fundación Esperanza, an organization that supports families living in informal housing communities. The team shared coffee, cookies, and conversations with local families, and delivered food boxes to help meet their immediate needs. The work of @fundacion.hogaresperanza is truly inspiring.
Intrax Chile also took part in a community event at Santa María Chapel, organized with the "Camino a la Esperanza" housing committee. As part of the celebration, they provided merchandise and supplies to 15 families involved in the committee. It was a meaningful and heartwarming WAY Day experience for all involved.
Gap 360:
The UK-based Gap 360 team volunteered to help "Tackle the Mountain" of donations at their local hospice, which provides end-of-life care. Their efforts supported the hospice’s vital work and helped sort through the generous contributions from the community.

From gardens to beaches, bakeries to donation drives, WAY Day 2025 showed just how big an impact we can make when we roll up our sleeves and pitch in together. Around the world, Intrax teams turned a regular day into something truly meaningful. It was a chance to honor our founders, support our communities, and have a little fun along the way. Same time next year? We’ll be ready.
