All good things must come to an end. The final day of the Wisconsin Dells trip has arrived, and we’re spending it at the Wilderness Resort. But first, the team had to start the day right with a hearty breakfast at the legendary Denny’s Diner. No, not that Denny’s.

Calling the décor at Denny’s Diner eclectic would be an understatement.

After an amazing breakfast, the team made their way to Wilderness Resort and met Bertana, who works at the resort’s candy shop. She was quick to invite Dennis behind the counter and put him to work. While wrapping frozen bananas, Dennis and Bertana had a meaningful chat about the Work Travel program and her experience as a participant. Even Bertana’s manager joined in to share kind words about the international students she’s worked with.

Once they wrapped things up at the candy shop (pun intended), Kaitlin and Dennis sat down with Maggie, who oversees hiring at the resort. After their conversation, Maggie invited them to experience one of the park’s most popular attractions, Take Flight.

Around lunchtime, the pair stopped by one of the resort’s snack shacks to meet Tajae, a talented cook who gave Dennis a crash course in burger making 101.

To close out the day, Kaitlin and Dennis spent time with Frank, who shared some of his favorite things about America, especially the funnel cakes.

Frank professes his love for strawberry blast funnel cakes topped with ice cream.

As the sun set on their final day, Dennis couldn’t resist enjoying the park’s many offerings, from go-karts and mini golf to the famous water slides.

This season of Out of Office has been a heartfelt journey through the Work Travel program. We’ve met incredible students, heard inspiring stories, and seen the impact of the employers who welcome them each year.

Thanks for the memories, Dells. Goodbye… for now.
