AuPairCare

AuPairCare is the premier au pair agency providing live-in childcare to American host families.  In 1989, AuPairCare became one of the first au pair agencies designated by the U.S. Department of State to legally sponsor au pairs to come to the U.S.  We've connected more than 50,000 au pairs with American families across the U.S.

Our au pairs hail from more than 40 counties, have previous childcare experience, speak English, and have a sincere interest in living with an American family.  To meet the diverse needs of our host families, we offer additional training for au pairs to develop more specialized skills in caring for infants or multiple children.

Au pairs offer families many advantages over other childcare options - low child-to-caregiver ratio, affordability, and flexibility, as well as early exposure to other cultures and languages.  Child development experts and pediatricians agree that personalized caregiver attention offers children a great start in life.  Introducing a second language to children as early as possible fosters healthy brain development, encourages positive social skills, and lays a solid foundation for effective communications skills that will last a lifetime.

AuPairCare One Year Program

AuPairCare’s standard au pair program is a year-long experience for the host family and au pair, combining dedicated childcare and cultural exchange. Au pairs provide up to 45 hours of childcare per week, not to exceed 10 hours per day. Host families choose the hours their au pair works, to best fit their family’s needs.

AuPairCare is an official au pair agency designated by the U.S. Department of State.  AuPairCare will sponsor an au pairs J-1 au pair visa, organize travel to the and from the U.S. and provide training and support throughout the year. AuPairCare helps au pairs realize their dream of traveling to the U.S. to live and work with an American family and their children.  AuPairCare helps American families find a caring, experienced au pair that fits their childcare needs, budget, lifestyle, and timing.

AupairCare Infant Specialized Program

AuPairCare’s Infant Specialized program is designed for families with children 0-12 months old, or families who are expecting.  Au pairs attend a separate and longer training program focused on infant care giving.  This program teaches infant sign language, baby massage techniques, games to stimulate infant mental development, and American parenting techniques.

Infant Specialized au pairs have considerable interest and experience caring for infants and have at least 200 documented hours of childcare experience with infants and children under two.  AuPairCare's proprietary Infant Specialized Training utilizes a hands-on approach to train au pairs in infant safety, care giving, infant stimulation, and development. Infant Specialized au pairs are specifically trained in the "American Way" of infant care giving in this focused, hands-on environment and are given tools to ensure clear communication with parents about baby care through the use of the AuPairCare Daily Diary.

AuPairCare Extension Program

AuPairCare's Extension Program offers host families and au pairs the option to extend a stay for an additional six, nine or 12 month period of time. This program provides host families the opportunity to have continuous au pair childcare for up to 24 months.

There are many benefits of extending your AuPairCare program including:  continuing to receive childcare from someone you know and trust, eliminating the time and extra expense involved in finding a new au pair and orienting them to your home, more quality time with your au pair, and financial savings since you’ll pay reduced program fees in your extension year.
